Hiking for a Purpose

Patti’s connection to The Boston House goes back decades and is deeply personal. In 1979, her two-and-a-half year old niece, Danielle, was a resident of The Boston House and sadly passed away after a year-and-a-half battle with cancer. During their stay at The Boston House, Patti’s brother and family found comfort, support, and a place to stay together while Danielle received treatment. Patti remembers visiting and experiencing the warmth of the house firsthand.
Now, years later, Patti’s family remains closely tied to The Boston House, as her niece Dawn is now the Co-Executive Director, and her brother and his wife serve as Resident Managers,
helping to support families going through cancer treatment.
This spring, Patti is taking on a big challenge, hiking the Appalachian Trail to raise awareness and funds for The Boston House. The trail spans over 2,000 miles, starting in Georgia and ending in Maine. For Patti, this hike is about more than the miles, it's about honoring her family's experience and giving back to a place that means so much to them.
Through this fundraiser, Patti is turning a personal goal into a meaningful way to support
families currently staying at The Boston House. To support Patti’s hike and help make a
difference for families at The Boston House, consider donating or following along with her
journey here.
